DESTINATION INTERIORS
SPACES WITH A SENSE OF PLACE
Piper Skillman Inc. is a residential interior design studio based in Brooklyn and the Hudson Valley, New York. We design destination homes — residences with a true sense of place, whether lived in year-round or kept as a retreat. Our projects span New York City, the Hudson Valley, Florida's 30A, Vermont, London, and further afield. In the Hudson Valley, our work centers on Chatham, Kinderhook, Germantown, Hudson, and the surrounding Columbia County area.
Every project begins with where it is and who lives there. A barn in the Hudson Valley and a house on the Gulf ask for different things — different light, different materials, a different pace — and we have no house style to impose on either. What carries from one to the next is the approach: materials that age gracefully, homes that ask little of their owners, and rooms that belong, unmistakably, to the people who live in them.
The studio is full-service. We take on ground-up construction, gut renovations, and complete furnishing, and we stay with each project from first drawings through construction oversight to final install — working closely with architects, contractors, and craftspeople throughout. Alongside our residential work, we accept a small number of hospitality commissions.
Our work has appeared in Architectural Digest, House Beautiful, Homes & Gardens, Mansion Global, and Real Simple, among other publications. Piper Skillman is an AD PRO Directory Featured Designer for 2026.
